Sharp Objects Review

Image result for sharp objects
Sharp objects is american psychological thriller starring Amy adams as protagonist. The show starts projecting elements of mystery and psychological drama that will follow further. Someone who has watched True detective will for sure start comparing Sharp objects with it as here protagonist have some similarities like losing someone closer to them in the past which has become their emotional baggage and they carry it around making their personality portrayed in a gloomy manner. The protagonist here is criminal journalist who has been sent to her hometown in order to gain information about the recent murder of two young girls so the story of incident can be published with a personal touch which would otherwise would not gain much attention if such article would have been written objectively and by someone who didn't have much insight about the hometown. Returning upon home she is confronted by her past and here and there flashbacks scenes happen quite often but they don't reveal as much information which the viewer would want it to have in order to understand the past of protagonist. Show starts with psychological and mystery elements but however in following episodes it also switches to drama where the protagonist deals with people she knew in her childhood and some characters are fond of her and some totally against and view her as someone who just came here to extract information, that creates conflict. Show doesn't shy away from displaying certain feature of character and giving considerate amount of screentime to establish traits  of character and make us viewer register the information as to what traits belong to which character. But those scene's frequency goes down in further episodes. The reason this is mention here is because I thought the scenes of protagonist drinking vodka is way too much in first half of the series which at first is alright but after that it becomes a little jarring over time.
Show manages to keep viewer on edge of the seat as slowly the tension keeps rising upon each new discovery of the mystery. Show manages to balance drama and mystery part aspect well as they do not go well together hand in hand.
From start to end it keeps pace and tone of the show consistent. Whole series is just not about solving the mystery of the two girls but it also about protagonist who is a women and has tendency to harm herself and has dealt serious psychological damage and now to be facing all those people who were responsible for her suffering.Image result for camille preaker scars Overall much cannot be said about the show without spoiling it. Imagine mixing True detective's Protagonist and city of Winden from Dark by netflix and you have yourself an show which combines those aspects and the result is this piece of entertainment which is as good as any other top rated mystery show out there in Psychological genre.
Some plots in the show were established just so that viewer stays confused and reaches an conclusion which in the end proves to be wrong as twists in the story is shocking and completely different than what viewer must have predicted. The ending is in no way disappointing and offers the satisfaction that one would expect from such genre.

Netflix Devilman Crybaby's Review

It takes a quite a long gap for any movie or series fan to keep stumbling upon good and classic piece of entertainment one after another but recently after Made in abyss and Ancient Magus' Bride stumbling upon Netflix's Devilman Crybaby has been a treat. Devilman Crybaby stands out because of four main reasons which is Music and soundtrack, Gore, Sexual violence and Visual animation style. The trippy animation is impressive, its not always there but when its there and when it hits, it so fucking goddamn hits. Music and soundtrack in background is far beyond impressive, its perfect and especially when combined with trippy animation, the result is something from which you can't take your eyes off. Its one of the anime of its kind as a lot of anime barely reach that boundary of  nudity but with Netflix's support it totally takes benefit of that and the result is very strange offering the viewer trippy sexual gory violence. Just because visual representation is so w
